Energy For The Brain

In sleep no less than a quarter of the body's intake of energy goes to the brain. At first sight it seems an enormous consumption for its weight, but the brain is the integrating unit, the control room on which the marvellous efficiency of the body depends. The active state of its 10,000,000,000 nerve cells has to be maintained.
