| Don't Drink Water During Weight Training |
|
Vince apparently told trainees not to drink water during a workout. What was his reason for this, does anyone know? - His reason was that you take in too much air when you drink during training which lead to cramps. However, Vince didn't totally ban drinking water during workouts. He was against drinking from a water fountain, since you sucked in too much air while drinking. Drinking from a cup or water bottle would be OK. If you were trying to cut up or lose weight...he advocated no water during workouts...but conversely, if trying to gain weight he recommended sipping water between exercises. You have to remember that Vince's workouts were extremely brief and intense -- not long-winded things. He expected you to get in there, do it, and get out -- maybe in 20 minutes or less sometimes! |
